FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nashville, Tennessee/Atlanta, Georgia
July 12, 2015
Nashville author, singer/songwriter Donna Nolan-Wilson coming to Georgia to present Tripp Halstead with book. Tripp Halstead, the 2 and 1/2 year old who made National news because Super Storm Sandy caused a heavy branch to snap and crush this little boys skull now has a book that features him, his daily life and that helps bring awareness to Traumatic Brain Injury.
‘The Traveling Jalapenos Meet Tripp Halstead’ is the story of the 2 and 1/2 year old that was severely injured when a tree branch fell on his head while he was playing outside at his daycare center almost 3 years ago. The Traveling Jalapenos are a fictional musical band of Peppers who are cousins who travel from Nashville to meet Tripp to learn about Traumatic Brain Injury in an effort to raise awareness regarding this injury that affects thousands of families per year.
‘The Little Boy That Could’
The song written by Nashville songwriter Nolan-Wilson formerly of Winder, GA was inspired by Tripp Halstead and has already sold over 1,000 copies on iTunes and YouTube.
The author of ‘The Traveling Jalapeno’s’ book series which is available on Amazon reflects on how the Peppers came into being. She says, “We would have Taco Sunday with our grandkids and there was a jar of Jalapeno Peppers that used to travel between the two houses. Maybe one pepper got eaten from that jar each Sunday. We joked about how they were the Traveling Jalapenos and I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to write a story about them and how they escaped from the Pepper jar, then form a band and would travel around the country doing good deeds. Within a year of that thought, the peppers became a reality with the first book, The Traveling Jalapenos, with every book the Peppers grow in personality and adventure.”
The author knows a lot about her subject matter as she booked bands in the Atlanta area for 12 years. She is also a published poet and writer for several popular publications. This songwriter has several CD’s available on iTunes and Amazon under the name of Nolan Wilson. Nolan Wilson followed the Tripp Halstead story closely because she previously lived in Winder, had a granddaughter that used to attend a Winder daycare. When she saw that Tripp was released from the hospital after 6 months on her own birthday, she knew it was more than a coincidence.
A large portion of book sales and song downloads are being donated to the Halstead family. The author is presenting Tripp a copy of his book on July 16th, 2015 at his home in Jefferson, GA.
